Stranger Things 4 soundtrack: every song featured in the Netflix show
You’re probably here for Kate Bush. So are we.
Stranger Things has been captivating its audience with an incredible soundtrack since the show first came out in 2016.
This is especially the case in season 4, which has filled our lives with classic '80s hits, rejuvenated forgotten gems and breathed new life into timeless songs, so much so, in fact, that Kate Bush's iconic 1985 hit Running Up That Hill shot up the Spotify and iTunes charts after featuring heavily in Stranger Things.
The track featured in many of Max's (Sadie Sink in the Stranger Things cast ) scenes, who managed to use the song to fight off season 4's resident villain, Vecna.
Urged on by Bush's haunting vocals, Max sprinted towards the light, ultimately making it out alive.
It was a much-needed moment of levity in the series' darkest chapter to date, and Spotify has since revealed a way to find your 'saviour song' as protection from the evil Vecna.
What's more, the moment led Bush to her first-ever Top 10 hit in the US, with the show's younger and older fans alike playing the song on repeat and reliving the fist-pumping moment.
Speaking on Woman's Hour on Radio 4, the singer-songwriter summed up the track's resurgent success as “just extraordinary", adding: "It's so exciting but it's quite shocking really, isn’t it? I mean, the whole world’s gone mad.”
“It’s such a great series, I thought that the track would get some attention. But I just never imagined that it would be anything like this,” Bush added.
“The Duffer brothers created the series and actually we watched it from the first series onwards, so I was already familiar with the series.
"And I thought what a lovely way for the song to be used in such a positive way. You know, as a kind of talisman almost really for Max. And yeah, I think it’s very touching, actually.”
Bush isn't the only artist featured in Stranger Things. The soundtrack is littered with bops from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Journey, all of which we've listed below.
In fact, you may be wondering what song Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) plays on his guitar in the epic season finale.
